Percy Foers: A Yorkshire life remembered

Discover the true story of Percy Foers, born in Rotherham in 1891. While visually represented through my bespoke reborn tribute doll, Percy was a real ancestor whose journey bridges the late Victorian era and modern Britain within the Foers family tree.

Early years in Rotherham

Born on 19 March 1891 to Thomas Foers and Catherine Ann Swann, Percy was the second child in a lively home of nine children. Baptised at Rotherham Minster, his childhood unfolded in the heart of industrial Yorkshire, shaped by hard work, daily chores, and the warmth of a bustling household.

A witness to profound change

Percy's long life spanned extraordinary chapters in British history. From horse-drawn cobblestone avenues through the challenges of both World Wars, he lived to witness Rotherham transform into a modern post-war community, embodying the quiet endurance of ordinary generations.
